TYPHOON LAGOON
This is a unique version of a typical water p in a tropical island setting of 56 acres The concept behind the design of Typhoon Lagoon is to emphasize the tropical environment. This watery playground of waterslides creates the impression of a scenery taking place in the wake of a storm of great magnitude. The park consists of a lagoon which is at the center of the park and out of which surge the most extraordinary and gigantic artificial waves which can be seen on the planet. In this huge and powerful pool there is a number of defying water sports which can be practiced including surfing (there is a sequence of 90 minute surf of 6-ft high waves followed by 30 minute bobbing wave cycles).
The fun starts at the foot of Mt Mayday from where you can zip down awesome slides.
Swim among the real lively sharks together with schools of tropical fish.
Navigate nine exhilarating waterslides and streams and conquer the world's largest artificially created waves.
Snorkel among the fish in a salt water artificial coral reef.
Humunga Kowabunga is the most impressive attraction of this park and consists at beginning the surf from the peak of the volcano and a thrilling descent equivalent to a 5 floor jump within a few seconds.
An interesting scenery catches the eye as you pass the High N Dry Locker hut and cross over a small wooden footbridge spanning a gentle stream flowing through the tropical foliage.
Along the slopes of Mt Mayday, the tropical scenery offers views of various streams cascading over the accumulation of lava rock from previous irruption of the volcano. |
